Tim Howard out for up to six weeks

Everton Goalkeeper Tim Howard has been sidelined for up to six weeks according to manager Roberto Martinez

The USA number 1 came off at half-time during the Toffees’ loss to Stoke on Boxing Day and was replaced by Joel Robles.

“Tim will be out for between five and six weeks,” said boss Roberto Martinez. “It is an injury to his left calf. As a goalkeeper it’s really unusual to get an injury by kicking a ball.”

With Robles unlikely to be a preferred option for Martinez it is likely he may take advantage of the January transfer window opening soon to bring in another keeper with Mexico’s Ochea already being rumored about.
