Neuer returns to training

Bayern Munich and Germany fans received a huge boost today as Manuel Neuer returned to training for the first time since September 2017.

Having fractured his left foot for the second time in a year, Neuer celebrated his 32nd birthday by getting back to training for the first time in 6 months, completing two ten minute runs at Bayern’s training centre Säbener Strasse.

Having missed the last 5 games of the 2016/17 season and only managing 3 matches in the 17/18 season due to foot injuries Neuer will be keen to prove his fitness ahead of the World Cup in the summer.

The Bayern captain was obviously excited to be back, posting about how wonderful it was to be back out on the pitch alongside a video of him training.

It remains to be seen just how quickly the Bayern number 1 can recover and what impact he can have on the rest of Bayern’s season as they look to challenge in the final stages of the Champions League.
