Manchester United’s David De Gea recently switched from the Nike Vapor gloves he has worn since joining the club in 2012 to the extremely popular Adidas Ace Zones Goalkeeper Gloves.
David De Gea’s sensational displays last season all came since swapping to his new gloves, so Adidas will be loving all the fantastic advertising they are getting!
Featuring four zones covering key attributes in the life of a goalkeeper, the Adidas Ace Zones Goalkeeper Gloves have been designed in partnership with some of the world’s best.
- Wrist – designed to give the goalkeeper an ideal fit for any wrist measurements. This is perfectly complemented by the stretch wrist strap to give stabilisation to the wrist.
- Grip Zone – the most important area which uses a special Nova Zone Tech latex mixture unique to adidas to deliver the best grip possible in the key areas of the glove.
- Abrasion Zone – designed to protect the palm from damage, ensuring strength as well as the flexibility goalkeepers demand from their gloves.
- Cut – This seasons glove once again shows off Adidas’ seamless touch which is a negative cut that uses the latex gussets to give the negative feel whilst also providing a large contact area for exceptional handling.
De Gea wore a few different designs last season of the Adidas Predator Zones gloves, starting with the predatory design of red, black and white, before most recently moving to the Navy(Night Flash), Red (Solar Red) and White which he wore for most of the season.
Currently however he looks set to go with the striking Solar Red and Black gloves pictured above or the Solar Yellow and Black gloves which will go perfectly with the Manchester United away goalkeeper kit!
