Karius and Ter Stegen shortlisted for German Football Ambassador 2018

The German FA have announced their shortlist for the German Football Ambassador’s 2018 Public Award which includes two goalkeepers; Loris Karius and Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

The award is to recognise German footballers who are playing abroad and contributing in bettering the reputation of Germany abroad.

Karius has had a real change of fortunes over the last few months with Klopp publicly stating that he is now his number 1 goalkeeper which has reaped it’s rewards with Karius putting in a number of strong displays since being shown faith by his manager.

Ter Stegen on the other hand has been an almost ever present for Barcelona throughout their La Liga and Champions League season, continuing to demonstrate his ability not just with the gloves but in possession of the ball too.

The 11 strong shortlist is made up of 10 men and 1 woman and includes some tough competition from the likes of Leroy Sane, Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira and Lukas Podolski.
