Jonas Lossl makes Huddersfield Town stay permanent

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has taken the decision to make Jonas Lossl’s current loan deal from German Bundesliga side Mainz a permanent deal.

The Danish international has been the undisputed number one for the Premier League side, playing a total of 31 games already this season for the West Yorkshire based club in their first season within the Premier League.

Whilst the fee and the length of Lossl’s contract with the Terriers has not been disclosed, Wagner was quick to heap praise on his latest signing.

“We knew Jonas had big quality when he joined us on loan and that has certainly proven to be the case”

“He’s been a huge part of our season so far, on and off the pitch, and I’m sure he’ll continue to be as we aim to retain our status in the Premier League.”

Wagner singled Lossl’s distribution out in particular as a key attribute of his game which has helped his side this season. Once again highlighting just how important an attribute distribution has become within the modern game for goalkeepers.

What impact this has on the other first team goalkeepers at the club is yet to be seen, particularly for veteran keeper Robert Green who will be keen to continue to pick up game time as he reaches that latter stages of his career!
