Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has today revealed that he does not wish to spend another season playing second fiddle to Belgian Thibaut Courtois. The 32 year old Czech international and long time Chelsea hero has fallen down the pecking order since the return of young Belgian Courtois from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.
Cech who has only started 4 league games this season and whilst he accepts Mourinho’s decision and can see the benefit it has provided Chelsea this season with two top quality goalkeepers he is certain the situation can not go on for another season.
‘I don’t know what the club’s idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo,’ Cech said.
‘But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this,’ he added
In the few games Cech has played this season he has been in sensational form showing that he is still a top goalkeeper and will undoubtedly be on the radar of a whole host of Europe’s top clubs, we’re sure this will be an exciting time for the Czech stopper in the summer!
