Courtois says he is committed to Chelsea, for at least one more season
Despite the constant rumours of interest from European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid surrounding the gigantic 6ft 6in Belgian, Thibaut Courtois has dropped a huge hint that he will remain at Chelsea in the summer.
Courtois’ contract is set to expire at the end of next season but Courtois has stated his commitment to Antonio Conte’s side whilst he has a contract at Stamford Bridge.
I’m committed to Chelsea. I have a contract until next year and I will be here. I will do my best for it.
Obviously there is no extension signed but I don’t think now is the moment to do it. I think it is better to wait until the end of the season. All I can say is I’m committed to Chelsea and also committed for next year. Thibaut Courtois
Courtois had a torrid time earlier this week when he faced a Barcelona side led by an incredible Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward twice slipping the ball between the Chelsea goalkeepers legs as they went on to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League.
Despite this set back though he is quick to turn his attention to helping Chelsea focus on their next game away to Leicester in the quarter finals of the FA Cup and to helping his club secure a top four finish ensuring Champions League football next year.
The Belgian shot-stopper will also already have one eye on this summer’s World Cup where he and his Red Devil team mates will line up to face England in the group stages of the competition in Russia.
