Ben Foster out for six months
England and West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster has been ruled out for up to six months after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in last weeks game against Stoke City.
Foster was replaced by Boaz Myhill after landing awkwardly when claiming a cross against Stoke and although he underwent emergency surgery on Friday it has today been confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season.
The news will come as a real blow to the England camp who look likely to also have lost out on backup stopper Fraser Forster who also looks to have damaged his knee.
Roy Hodgson has opted to bring in Rob Green who has been fantastic for QPR this season as well as Jack Butland who was due to represent England at under 21 level.
