Precision Goalkeeping and Carly Telford Launch Female Goalkeeping Range
Notts County and England Ladies keeper Carly Telford has recently left her long term roots with Pro-GK and launched the first ever goalkeeping gloves designed specifically for women in conjunction with Precision Goalkeeping who are more famously known for their association with Leicester and Denmark’s Kasper Schmeichel.
The 28 year old stopper believes that Precision Goalkeeping’s creation of a specifically designed female range marks another step forward in bringing women’s football into the commercial world.
The new gloves co-designed and tested by Telford have a narrower fit with a slightly reduced finger length and a tighter backhand to more naturally suit female hands.
The gloves were recently spotted being worn by Carly whilst on England duty in the SheBeleives Cup in Florida, although Telford was an unused substitute during the tournament.
The Notts County stopper seems over the moon with being able to bring an all female glove to the market after having to wear men’s gloves so far in her career: “Since I was young, I always used boys’ or men’s’ gloves, because that was all that was available to me.
“It’s always a struggle to find a glove that fits my hand because although a lot of the time gloves say they are designed to be unisex, they don’t always fit a female hand correctly in a way which aids goalkeeping.
“This will hopefully help our sport a lot and I have no doubt it will be good for girls and women.
“When we talk about being at the top of our game it’s all about the small percentages.
The new women’s range of gloves includes three products – the Fusion Pro, Fusion Replica and Schmeichology glove, priced between £20 and £40.
