Liverpool and Everton set to battle it out for Sergio Romero

According to Italian newspaper Secolo, Liverpool and Everton are set to battle it out in the January transfer window for Sampdoria and Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

With his contract due to expire at the season Sampdoria will be keen to cash in on the Argentine shot stopper before he is able to leave on a free transfer.

Both Merseyside clubs are reportedly on the lookout for a goalkeeper with Everton’s Tim Howard sidelined for 6 weeks and Mignolet struggling for Liverpool.

One thing is for sure, it looks like the rumours about who both clubs will sign is sure to continue for the next few weeks!
